Unterwasser Visions is a monthly competition that runs from January to November each year. In April the theme was "Red"
I submitted a close-up photo of the mouth a Deeplet Sea Anemone (Bolocera tuediae) which turned out to do quite well, and the jury awarded it with a thirdplace. This image was taken with a Canon EOS 350D and a Sigma 70mm macro lens in Gulen back in 2008.
The jury said this about my picture (translated from German): "The photographer was able to capture "Shades of Red" with just one subject. The image is still anything but flat, which can be attributed to the delicate tones of red as well as the (half) round shapes. Even when there is little to see, the onlooker is still drawn into the image thanks to a good composition."
